How to use yip.org

These pages describe how to use yip.org in a somewhat secure manner. It is not finished.

Select your operating system:

You can download the YIP copier version 1 here. It is for Windows.

Note: Problems have been reported with the YIP copier installer under Windows ME & XP, but apparently it works if you install it manually.

All unencrypted connections (except for www) have been disabled. The above links will show you how to set up your computer so you'll be able to access yip.org. The contents of the anonymous ftp directories are available here: http://www.yip.org/pub/

New: YIP now has two SSL certificates; one for www.yip.org and one for mail.yip.org. If your mail software complains about mail.yip.org not being yip.org, change your mail settings to point to mail.yip.org and that problem should go away.

What's on yip.org, anyway?

A directory of webpages is here. Outdated server information and the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) are here.
