l'ombre - simulations 2.0

I think I’ve been excessively nice to L’ombre in the past, so I’m going to rip on this release and make him feel bad. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not because Simulations 2.0 is inferior or not worthwhile, I just feel like being a prick. Also, I’m not saying you should ignore this disc, or turn your back and run away, or avoid it like winter vomiting disorder, far from it, actually. Musically, Simulations 2.0 is quite interesting; heralding an exciting change in approach, intensifying the mellow chill out groove, more down tempo while more upbeat in persona. And this territory is nicely explored. No. It’s not that at all, nor is it lacking in the insight and wit of previous releases-- if anything, the contemplative introspective mood is increased. The remixes, however, are generally less interesting, though there is a really nice one by Displacer. However, that is all irrelevant. I’m just going to be an asshole, ignoring all the positives and even the negatives. I’m going to rip this release apart and say very nasty things. Oh shit, I guess I kinda fucked that up and its a little late to start now. Well, I guess forget the whole thing, I’m calling it all off.

Fuck you.
