heimataerde - gotteskrieger

I once attempted to dance, drunkenly, to Imminent Starvation's Tentack One, wearing a chainmail shirt. It resulted in my smacking down hard on the dancefloor. Of course, in those days, I often would lose my balance and crash down on my ass. In retrospect, I think it was more the booze, rather than the chainmail shirt.

Heimataerde, the new discovery on Metropolis records, is "Teutonic knight EBM"-- heavily dance floor-oriented electronic beats mixed with a medieval sensibility. There have been comparisons made between Heimataerde, Wumpscut, and Suicide Commando, and while I disagree with these simplistic analysis’, if one had said, "the most dance floor oriented Wumpscut", or "the vnv mixed Suicide Commando", then I'd perhaps be more inclined to agree.

Imagine, if you will, a bunch of angry ‘knights of the round table’, dancing their little pantaloon asses off to heroically uplifting EBM, and perhaps you'll get the sound of Heimataerde's debut album, Gotteskrieger. It's awesome stuff in its limited dance floor capacity, and it’s great for what it is.
