Kukagami Lodge is a relaxing place to be. Away from the noise and pressures of the city, you'll find time to do whatever you like. Spend all of the daylight hours on our trails, searching out wildlife and fantastic scenery, or just sit back with a good book. We offer an idyllic retreat far from the crowds of civilization. Come share with us fine food, good friends, a warm hearth and the deep peace that can be found in nature among the trees, lakes and trails of Northern Ontario, Canada.

"It certainly does get more difficult to go home. Our stay was wonderful -- left all the baggage behind, cleared the head and recharged the 'ol' vitality once again."
Gary and Anne

CABINS
Kukagami Lodge can accommodate 12 people comfortably, with a cabin for one or two guests, a cabin for two to four, and a cabin for four and more. This small size ensures that we can be attentive to your personal needs. Groups of 10 to 12 are encouraged to book the entire lodge for a special retreat. Your private log cabin comes complete with sheets, towels, wash basin, kerosene lamps, an airtight wood stove and small solar powered lights.

"This place is beginning to feel like my home away from home. Fourth time here and just as superb as the first!"
Bonnie M.

"Thanks for a restorative week. We enjoyed the great food, wonderful breads, jams, preserves, wild edibles and blueberry pies."
Sharon K. and David A.

MEALS
Kukagami Lodge is renowned for its sumptuous and creative meals. Popular features include homemade, organic, whole-wheat bread, fruity homemade jams, maple syrup tapped from our own sugar bush, wild teas and hearty delicious entrees. Some of the menu highlights produce from our organic garden, freshly picked, preserved or stored in our root cellar. All meals are served family-style at one big table in the main lodge -- informal and friendly. Vegetarian meals are available. Picnic lunches can be requested if you'd like to spend all day on the trails, or on the lake. Fresh fruit and muffins are always available for between meal snacks.

Kukagami Lodge is an old-fashioned kind of place in a wilderness setting. We have no electricity and no running water. Kerosene lamps provide our light; washing and drinking water are provided in your cabin. Plus, we have a beautiful log sauna for bathing and relaxing.

HOSTS -- Viki, Allan, Vesta and Kate Mather
Our family has lived at Kukagami Lake for many years and we have a deep love for the area. We reopened Kukagami Lodge, which was originally built in 1938, in 1985 as a wilderness cross-country ski centre, however we're now open in the summer too. Over the years we've restored the log buildings, developed an extensive trail system and have enjoyed sharing our enthusiasm for life in the bush with our guests. Please join us!

"It is good to know that Kukagami Lodge exists up here. That people are living and learning about what Mother Nature provides. I feel this has been the beginning to a closer relationship to the earth."
Kieron R.

"We really enjoyed our stay this year (as every year). Thanks for all your hard work. It's all the little extra touches that you do that make the weekend special. They don't go unnoticed."
Kathy
