Interlog's Web Access Counter

This counter is for Interlog clients ONLY. If you are not an Interlog client, you will not be able to use this counter.
It is very easy for you to add an access counter to your home page, just like the ones you see on other home pages on the Web. Just fill out the form below. You will get a line or two of text to copy and paste into your HTML document (web page). The counter will show up wherever you place the text!
Instructions:
  1. Fill out the form and choose your counter settings.
  2. Open your HTML file in a text editor, such as Notepad (Windows) or BBEdit Lite (Macintosh). Do not use an HTML editor, as some of them tend to mangle the counter tag.
  3. Copy the counter tag from the page that comes up after you choose your counter options. Copy the tag right off the page and paste it into your web page in your text editor.
  4. Use an FTP program to upload your file. Make sure you set your FTP program to ASCII mode before you upload the file. Do not use an HTML Publisher to do the upload, as they can also cause problems with the counter tag.
Important:
  • Make sure that the filename of your web page has the extension ".html". The counter will not work properly if the page has the extension ".htm"
  • The counter will not look right if you load your web page into your browser straight off your hard disk. In order to get the counter to show up properly, upload it to the server first!
  • If you want to use the counter on your Virtual Web Server, please send an email to <support@interlog.com> with VWS Counter Access as the Subject, and the URL of your Virtual Web Server in the body of the message.

The access counter is by no means a guaranteed way of keeping accurate track of the number of hits to your page. Anybody can repeatedly reload your page, thereby falsely increasing the counter. For a more detailed breakdown of your site's activity, check out your Web Access Statistics
