Some useful commands:
- passwd - allows you to change your password
- pine - read your mail
- w - see who's online
- talk username - chat with username if they're online (ctrl-C to stop, ctrl-L to refresh the screen, ctrl-D clears the screen)
- mesg y - allow other people to talk with you (mesg n to stop others from talking with you)
- irc - chat with people worldwide
- apropos someword - see what manual pages have the word someword in the name or description
- man command - see the manual page for command
- hold down ctrl-key, hold down right mouse button - Brings up a menu of stuff in the applet. Not that useful.
This applet is for non-commercial use only. It comes from AppGate.
Note: If you're behind a firewall, that firewall needs to allow connections to TCP port 22.
Note 2: I can't get it to work under FreeBSD (authentication always fails), but it works on a Win2K system. More success/failure reports would be welcome.
