Singularity

by Totenbuch Christ

The group of people had suddenly become singular. It was a rather odd thing. So odd that it continues to boggle peoples' minds. Some people will continue to see a group of people, but are unable, no matter how hard they try, to use a plural form in addressing him. Some people just see the single entity.

How odd.

He thinks that he is very smart when he gets on a bus. He needs only pay one fair, even though he fills the entire bus. Of course, the bus driver usually ends up becoming so confused that he is legally unable to drive the bus any longer.

He has many jobs. He is able, through some odd bend in the universe, to work at all jobs at the same time, if he so chooses. This means that his income is rather large. It would need to be, however. He eats a great deal of food and he is forced, through no desire of his own, to live in a great many houses.

He isn't really a he at all, if we were to get all technical. He is about thirty four percent woman. Some say this, in defence of the use of the male pronoun: "Aren't we all a bit woman? What matters is that he is more man than woman." He is also, by the way, ten percent black, two percent German, six percent Egyptian, and, oddly enough, in the last three years, has become one percent dead.

It took him a while to get used to his new way of life. In fact, at one point, he attempted to commit suicide by jumping off a building. After three hours of trying to attempt to talk himself down, he finally climbed up and physically stopped himself.

He had originally thought about shooting himself, but quickly realized that his revolver only had six shots, and it would take a lot more than that to put himself out of his misery.

He now lives away from the city, along with his child, who he managed to have all by himself.

Incidentally, his child is sixty percent girls and forty percent boys and ranges in age from six months to five years.
